The service at church yesterday really touched me. We had communion and it just felt so intimate to me. I couldn’t hold back the tears. Pastor Byron talked about seeing people how Jesus sees them. It made me think about how many times I missed helping someone because I didn’t look past the surface.
I hear people say things about others all the time that they don’t even know (and I’ve been guilty of this too) Take a homeless person for example…
well they made poor decisions and it was their choice, they could get a job if they really wanted to.
Instead of saying…
I don’t know that persons story and whatever it is, it’s obviously not a good one. They need help and they need to be shown the love of Christ.
I always think about children and teens. You know, the ones that are the “troublemakers.” People are quick to judge them but do they know their story? Do they know whats going on in their homes? There are people everywhere that are going through something. Divorce, sickness, grief, depression, debt, addiction, and the list goes on.
I know that it really hit me hard yesterday. I need to be more aware of the people that God places in my life and around me. I need to look past the outer shell and realize that there are deeper issues in the core.
Everyone needs compassion…
a love that’s never failing…
Please God help me to look past the surface…

Lovely…what a graceful barbarian you are!
